FAQ
Our most frequently asked questions.
What do you need from me to get started?
Every project is different but the main things we usually need are: Your logo (if you have one), text or an outline of the content you need in the design. Any other material needed will be discussed and identified by the Art Director on a project by project basis. We also need a 50% deposit to start all projects.
How long until I see the first design concept?
As long as we have everything we need, you should get a design concept anywhere from 2 to 7 days. Times could vary depending on volume of business. We are dedicated graphic designers and we DO NOT sacrifice quality design time just for the sake of rushing.
Do you serve clients nationwide?
Absolutely. We are as close as your computer. With our sophisticated proofing software, we can collaborate on your project as if we were sitting at the same table.
Do you need a deposit to start my project?
Yes, we require a 50% deposit to place your project in production. The remaining balance is due at the time you approve all or any item(s).
Can you start work without a deposit?
As much as we would love to work for free, we would have to politely decline. Placing a deposit puts your project in production. If you placed a deposit and we delayed your job to work on someone who didn't place a deposit...we don't see that as fair. So to be fair, everyone is required to place a deposit. The deposit also helps cover our up-front costs to work on your job.
How do I view my proofs?
We email you a link that opens your proof. There is no need for logging in or passwords. Once it opens you can start making comments directly on the proof. We can also respond to those comments and collaborate with you.
Do I get a discount for ordering multiple products?
Yes, we offer discounts when you order multiple items. If you haven't already, download our Get Started Toolkit that will explain the pricing in more detail.
How do I send you files?
90% of our clients can just email us any files we need. If you feel you need something more robust, let the Art Director know and we will arrange for you to upload your files.
What do you charge for your services?
We charge one price which includes, graphic design, three rounds of revisions, professional full-color printing, and shipping your product to you. There is an additional charge if you need something rushed or if you need more than 3 rounds of revisions.
How much do you charge for revisions?
You get unlimited revisions per round and your first three rounds of revisions are included with your package. That is normally all you need. Additional rounds are $50 per round.
What is a revision round?
After we present a proof. You have UNLIMITED revisions. After you are done making all your revisions, click the green Decision Button on your proof. Then select, Changes Required. This tells us that you are done making revisions. That would be one round. Three rounds of revisions are included in your package. If you take time to revise your design thoroughly, this is usually enough rounds to complete your project. Additional rounds if needed are available at just $50 per round.
Why do I have to pay $50 per round after 3 rounds, I thought this was one price?
To keep our prices as low as we can and still offer great value, we include three rounds of revisions in the package because that is usually all clients need. You still get unlimited amount of revisions per round. We work with clients to show them most efficient ways to make revisions. At one time we had a client that consistently had 15 rounds of revisions per project. After working with them, we got them down to three. Now they are happier and their projects get done faster. Lastly, this IS NOT an hourly fee that is hard for you to control or predict. This structure keeps you in control of the project budget.
What are tips to ensure I only use three rounds of revisions?
There are many tips to make the collaboration process as easy as possible on both sides. First, we have to make sure we conduct a good design brief so we meet your expectations in the initial concept. Then use your three rounds wisely and efficiently.
1. Bring in the end decision maker as soon as possible and keep them involved.
2. Don’t show the design to everyone asking them to give you changes. They will feel obligated to change something just for the sake of change which is never good. However DO get initial input from as many people as you need and give us those ideas. We will try to incorporate them in the FIRST design concept. Keep the actual revision and collaboration process to 1 or 2 people. Otherwise the design gets compromised and watered down trying to please everyone. Committees are notorious at destroying strong designs.
3. Look over your design proof as thoroughly as possible and make every possible comment, remark, and revision. Once you are done, check it again. Then submit your changes to us.
4. Trust us. We have been designing for 19 years and we know what we are doing. We strongly encourage that you resist the temptation to “redesign” your proof. If in doubt on something, talk to us, ask us, and let’s discuss the options. You are hiring us to be the experts so let us.
Why don't you charge hourly fees?
We charge flat-rate fees so it is a predictable cost for you and easy to budget. You are in control of how much you spend. Hourly fees are hard to predict and even harder to manage and budget on your end.
What happens when I approve my project?
Your final balance is then due on any or all items that you have approved. We then either deliver the files to you in the case of a logo design package, or send your job to the press to be printed.
When do I make my final payment?
When you have approved your last or only item(s) then your final payment is due.
Do I need special software to view my proof?
No, you just need access to the internet.
How do I see your prices or get a quote?
Just sign up to receive our free Get Started Toolkit. Also, you should call us to get an exact quote because we may have discounts or special offers if you order multiple items.
What if I don't like my design?
We work hard to collaborate with you and to meet your expectations. It is very rare but occasionally we produce a design that misses a client's expectation. We take that very seriously. At that point we encourage you to tell us right away so we can discuss where we missed the mark. In this open, honest dialogue we can get back on track. We often remind the client that we design for the target audience and convey the message in the best possible way. That is first priority. We discourage designing just for the clients taste, using only colors from the bosses Alma matter for example. One of the biggest issues we face is if you are a middleman in the collaboration process. For example; we design and give you the proof. You take proof and show the boss, boss is not happy and tells you. You come back and try to explain what the boss said. and on and on it goes. We have found this to be the most difficult and time intensive process that usually leaves everyone dissatisfied. Our best work has been when the end decision maker is closely involved initially and in the collaboration process.
Do you offer a refund?
After we have had a chance to talk over the design concept and revisit your expectations, if you still are not satisfied, we will offer a refund on your job minus 20% to cover minimal costs. This refund has to be requested after delivery of the first design proof and before we do any revision work. See our terms and conditions for exact details. A refund is not available after your project has gone to print.
What if my print job is wrong?
You will have total control of when your project is ready to send to press. Once you approve your project, that is the file that we will send to press so you can rest assured that what you approve for print is what you will get. If you receive your printed pieces and see an error that was not represented on the proof you approved for print, contact us immediately to resolve the matter.
Can you make a digital version of our design so we can put it on our website?
Yes. We will make a PDF version of your brochure that is web-friendly. That way your clients can download it from your site or you can email it.
I already have a design; can you just print it for me?
Sure, if you need to, grab our Get Started Toolkit. That will show all of our pricing. We also encourage you to have our Art Director review your design and make possible suggestions.
Can you do just design only?
Sure, if you need to, grab our Get Started Toolkit. That will show all of our pricing.
